Promoting health and preventing disease
I have always been a very curious person. I am from a small town in the interior of Bahia and when I was little there used to be power outages, so my mother used to light a candle and read the Bible with me and my brother. (Keep this information in mind).
When I was an adult, I began my personal searches and research, also on a spiritual level. I shared my findings with my mother, and one day she said to me: “Nabyaicia, you have always been curious, since you were very little. Do you remember when we used to read the Bible? Sometimes you had so many questions that I was left without answers and my only way out was to say: My daughter is like this because God wanted it!” But even that didn’t calm me down sometimes and I would ask: “But why did he want it that way?”
This brief introduction is just to make it clear that before the professional I became and continue to become, there came and comes the curious human being who is dissatisfied with shallow answers!
My curiosity as a human being made me go down the path looking for answers in different areas of my life and in the professional sphere it could not be different.
This curiosity is like a little bug “that is part of my microbiota” that constantly pokes me and only calms down when I feed it with knowledge. So studying for me is something really enjoyable, having the possibility of connecting all the subjects studied (in Medicine and Pharmacy and in the 3 postgraduate courses) now with the integrative one is an explosion of serotonin in my brain.
So the desire to learn is something inherent to my Being. As long as there is life, there will be learning. Every day we learn something!
